Shadows of the Subconscious - Bryan Miles' New Show at The Drama Factory

Bryan Miles premieres Shadows of the Subconscious at The Drama Factory, Somerset West, 17 & 18 October 2026.

Everyone remembers building Lego, playing a game of UNO or perhaps trying to solve a Rubik's Cube. For most of us, they were just childhood pastimes. For me, they were the beginning of a lifelong obsession with how people think.

This October, those same games take centre stage. I'm bringing my brand-new one-man show, Shadows of the Subconscious, to The Drama Factory in Somerset West for two performances only - Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, both at 3pm.

Long before I could explain why, I was already taking people's minds apart one game at a time. A Rubik's Cube taught me that even chaos has a hidden order, if you know where to look. In this show, I pull those same objects out of memory and onto the stage - Lego, UNO cards, and a Rubik's Cube. I even make use of emojis we now use to talk without talking. Every decision happens somewhere we can't see - in the shadows.

It's the most personal show I've done yet, and with only around 100 seats per performance, both dates are expected to move quickly.
